Hi I bought this PC 5 years ago from pcspecialist and I'm looking to see if I can upgrade anything or if I am better going for a new build.

I will be looking for a 1440p 144hz monitor as well to go with it.

PC will be used mainly for fps gaming.

Anything 4th gen or below I would say is ready for a full new system. I mean you could just upgrade GPU but it's only going to be short term before you need to replace the whole thing.

What would you recommend for a full build? My budget would be about £1700 with the monitor included.

A reasonable starting point would be this, but upgrade the graphics card to a 2070S and add the 27" MSI Optix MAG272CQR. Comes in just a few pounds over £1700. Unfortunately both the CPU and monitor are out of stock at the moment so you can't place the order just yet, but on the plus side that gives everyone else on here the opportunity to make suggestions.

Worth adding you can save some money by not buying another Windows licence if you're happy to transfer the one across from your old system. There's a guide somewhere on the forum explaining how, but I can't remember where it is.
