Cannot install Windows 8 Pro on Optimus IV

I am trying to install Windows 8 Pro using UEFI and GPT, however, despite being able to boot the installation disc using UEFI, I am unable to get past the "Copying Windows files (0%)" phase. It either freezes and accepts no mouse input, or BSOD's after a while with the message "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT". If it means anything when I run a CHKDSK on the X: partition created from the disc it fails with 7 errors, and apparently the specific BSOD I mentioned can be caused by a corrupted disc. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, or do I have to request a new disc from PC Specialist? Thanks.

Ask Pc specialist for the latest bios update.

That might be the problem, what is the version of your bios??? Can you boot in UEFI in windows 7 by the way?

I got the latest BIOS update off my order page, version: 1.02.18, KBC/EC Firmware Revision 1.00.05. I can boot the Windows 7 install disc with UEFI as well, but setup hangs.

The latest firmware revision is 1.02.08 and i think 09 is out... have you tried that?

Haven't tried either yet, do you know how I can get hold of them? (I got my BIOS update off my order page on the main PC Specialist site).

I've updated my KBC/EC firmware to 1.02.09 as you suggested, and it all works now. Thanks for the help.
