Seems too cheap even if it is currently on offer... for an i7 and 2070, is there a catch I'm missing here?

Well you're getting a laptop with i7-8750H. The new gen i7-9750H has been out since the end of april. So I don't know if it's actually too cheap, but if it is, that'd be because PCS are trying to clear their stock out.

PCS was the cheapest option by some distance when looking for a laptop with an RTX 2070 in it. Literally £400 cheaper than anything else comparable I could find. Granted that was without an operating system and only with the m2 SSD, but still.

Keep in mind the RTX 2070 is discontinued and the i7-8750 is now the previous generation chip, so as the above response notes it might just be a way of clearing stock. Either way I'm extremely pleased with mine :)

The RTX 2070 mobile hasn’t been discontinued as far as I’m aware, only the desktop versions.

Just get a single 1TB SSD. Keeps slots open for future expansion, and avoids juggling things between two smaller drives. Assuming it's for gaming?

Yes, but do bear in mind that there can be a small, but significant, performance advantage in having multiple physical drives. It all depends on the applications and how they use storage. I would imagine that for gaming the advantage of multiple storage drives is limited, but it's not universally true that a single bigger drive is always better. :)

Absolutely, and that's why I said assuming it's for gaming :)

Also, for situations where multiple drives can give a performance advantage, it'd be interesting to see comparisons between two low end Sata SSDs, and a single higher end NVMe SSD with much higher IOPS.
