To lower the price I removed a disk drive to save £30 and would install Windows myself, as I'm a student I can save £20.

Basically I was wondering if you guys could make any comments regarding the configuration and any suggestions. I fully understand this isn't an extremely capable laptop, but it seemed the best one I could come up with.

Cheers in advance, Phil.

There isn't one. I was just trying to, in theory, configure the cheapest laptop for the job. However, if you could configure a better set up for around £550 I'd appreciate it.

I would try to get a Scorpio black as the main drive, upgrade the thermal paste and the wireless card.
