Cheapest GTX 1080 spec?

Looking to game in VR and trying to keep the costs down as much as possible, is a rig kitted out with a GTX 1080 for under £1000 too much to ask? If so, what would be the cheapest build to get without any bottlenecks?

Given that a GTX1080 costs somewhere in the region of £650 just by itself - you are not getting a machine that would not bottleneck the graphics card for £1000. I'm sure one of the other forum members can give a rough idea how much a machine with a 1080 in it would be, but its definitely more than £1000.

As long as the budget doesn't include the GTX 1080 then yes, otherwise no. It's a £600 card on its own.

You could get something like this for ~£1270 with a 1080 though I wouldn't say it was a well-balanced spec.

If you dropped to a 1070 it would be £1027. That would be better balanced, closer to your budget, and still above the recommended specs for an HTC Vive: https://www.vive.com/uk/ready/
