Perhaps a pre-OCed system, faster RAM, and a mobo with USB 3.1

The onboard 7.1 sound is quite decent so I'm not sure you'd get much benefit from a sound card

The WD Blacks are pretty brutally expensive. You can get a 2TB 7200rpm drive for less. And storage speed doesn't affect gaming, which is what I assume this spec is for, besides which there wouldn't be that big a difference anyway.

If going for a 500gb SSD, you might as well get the 850 Evo as it's a good deal faster. If you wanted to save £ you could always get a 256gb PM961 from the M.2 SSD Drive menu instead. It's even faster than any of the Sata SSDs but not much more expensive per GB, andbeing smaller is a lot cheaper. It will still have room for Windows, programs, and select games.

Indeed its for gaming, nice switches! Thanks for the help.
Dual monitors, only 1080p 60hz for now, but I will be looking to upgrade to 1440p, maybe 4K if its worth it.

The GTX 1080 ti is vastly overpowered for 1080p. A GTX 1070 would be more than enough.

A 1080 ti would be a very nice match for a 4k screen, or would let you get pretty high FPS on a 1440p 144hz screen. These kinds of monitors with gsync would set you back £400-500+

If that sounds far too or you're probably only going with a 1440p (either 60hz or 144hz), you could stick to a GTX 1080 (non-ti) and save a load of £.

spec is similar to mine, just with a more expensive case. was advised on this config...is good as it has 256GB SAMSUNG PM961 M.2, PCIe NVMe and 2tb Firecuda drive which are faster, you could save 30 quid by having normal 2TB drive
