I went for the zalman laptop cooler and for peace of mind you could go with the 1 year pixel warranty.

Nice machine. You should probably contact PCS and request they put the OS on the SSD. I think they would do this anyway but as it's the second drive it's probably best to make sure.

As for the dead pixel warranty I think the 30 day would be enough as the fault would probably be there from the beginning. This is due to the manufacturing process which is why class II screens are allowed a few faults. It's not a common problem but when paying so much on a machine it's better to be safe than sorry. What's the price difference between the 30 days and the 1 year warranty? There's a now locked 10 page dead pixel thread in the technical support section which is why Keynes mentioned it.

I highly recommend the 5 day dispatch shipping for £39. I have seen people on here who placed orders around 15th April and are still stuck in pre-production, due to PCS being extremely busy at the moment. I upgraded to this delivery wednesday night (i was on 11th working day and sitting in pre-production) and my laptop has been dispatched now already!

To my knowledge the Vortex series laptops have removable graphics cards and obviously processors. So they 'could' be upgradeable. Obviously you'd only be able to upgrade the processor within the same socket as your current one so may not be able to go next gen for example. Similarly with graphics cards it is possible that newer cards are just incompatible with your laptop.
