Check this spec - mid/high gaming PC

Hi,

Currently using my 4 year old PC with an i5 4690 and a nVIDIA 1080. I'll be taking my 1080 to the new build below, and latterly looking to upgrade to a 2080.

Thoughts?

It's not very well balanced for gaming.

You can reduce the CPU to the 3800x which is still overpowered.

x570 Strix motherboard

You'd want the H100i cooler

You've got a slow SATA SSD, an M2 would be an awful lot quicker.

No benefit to over 16Gb RAM and you want 3200 or 3600MHz

No need for the soundcard

No wifi?

At least silver warranty.

Do you need a windows license? You can carry it over from your previous build.

Why don't i want the H100i cooler, what would you recommend?

I thought there would be benefits to having a dedicated soundcard vs onboard?

No wifi needed for me, router sits next to me.

Dedicated aren’t really used anymore because on board is so good on mainstream boards. It’s more if you’ve got a really budget board. The Strix X570 has amazing sound, wouldn’t be any better on a soundcard.
