Clevo p370em and 5.1 speakers?

This notebook have some sound issues, to resolve this I decided to buy an 5.1 sound system.

Will it work properly with p370em standard sound card?

And will I need to use any kind of specific programs of settings to let it work properly?

It will give you 5.1 surround sound with DVDs etc but not gaming.

To get 5.1 though gaming you need a soundcard with Dolby Digital Live which PCS laptops do not have.

To achive this you can buy and external USB sound card with Dolby Digital Live think there about £50+

If its just for music and movies it should be fine with just the 5.1 surround system connected to the optical output of your laptop. I'd make sure that your 5.1 Surround system supports optical input.

You only need the external card for 5.1 gaming.

The build in sound manager will be fine for setting it up

The HDMI does output 5.1 sound so if the 5.1 Sound System has HDMI input you can use that but in most cases it will use an optical input which the headphone jack on the laptop also doubles up as, you would need an optical 3.5mm to optical on the system

I am thinking to buy an external audio card later, like Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 PRO.

But at this moment I need just 5.1 sound system, and I am thinking to take CREATIVE A520 5.1 or Logitech X-530 PC

Yeah that system looks good, Music will sound great and should be quite bassy

Amazon are selling them brand new for the same price as the ebay page >Amazon<

It connects through the 3 jacks on the side of the laptop

Line in
Line Out
Headphones
Mic
etc

These can be managed from the sound options in control panel.
