Concerns on Cooler Temps

Hello, this may be me being overly concerned and underestimating the heat production of my new PC but would like another opinion.

I recently received my PC from PC Specialist which included a H115i Elite Capellix (on top set as exhaust) with a Corsair 5000X case (3 front intake, 1 back exhaust). When recieved the cooler would be around 33C while idle with the CPU around 35-40C. This was a bit high I thought but it stayed within acceptable limits. The last few days have been pretty warm but its been seemingly affecting the cooler temps. Today after being off over night, its currently idling at ~36C and last night got stuck at 38C after a gaming session but would still go up whenever anything was done (~42C on somewhat intensive game). I had noticed over the last weeks sometimes the temp would just go up by 2C, I usually attribute this to the ambient temps.

I've been a bit paranoid about coolers since an issue I had with one overheating a year ago, I replaced it with a H115i RGB Pro (different PC, set as intake) and saw a massive drop in temps idling at 25C and barely crossing 30C when pushed. I expected this to be similar but again might be underestmating the more powerful components.

Attached is a screenshot of icue showing temps at time of writing, nothing intensive open other than a youtube video about 30mins back.

So in summary, is this higher than expected, a simple issue of warm weather, lack of airflow or am I worrying about nothing?

All comments appreciated, Thanks.

Man 42C is extremely low temperatures in any context. It's nothing to be concerned about at all

i7's don't start to throttle themselves until they reach 100C, this is a non issue mate

Very much this.

I've gone down the AMD route admittedly, but the throttling temperatures between AMD and Intel CPUs aren't a million miles off each other, and as I type this, my CPU is switching between 37C and 38C. I regularly get up into the 60s when playing games which is still fine.

You really have nothing to worry about.
