For christmas instead of a new console im considering upgrading my pc on the pcspecialist website, I was just wondering if i upgrade my hard drive from 1tb to 4tb do you transfer my data and will everything be fine and work as normal and secondly whats the best cooler out of these?:

Corsair H100i (Im guessing this one)
Corsair H80i
Corsair H60
Corsair H40

The h100I and the H80I are pretty similar in performance. I'd opt for the H100I though.

im not sure about the hard drive question. Why not just keep the 1tb drive and add the 4tb as secondary?

Thanks I think ill go with the H100i or if there is a better one by the time I order and i want to swap to 4tb as personally i just find it easier to have everything on one drive, apart from the necessary on drive 1.

+1

Definitely just keep the 1Tb as is and instal the 4Tb as a secondary :) Unless there is a reason why not to do this?

If the 1Tb is just a data drive though (ie no OS), yes you can just transfer all of the data over to the new HDD. This doesn't work quite so easily if the OS is on the old drive though (I don't think).

I don't think it will make a difference besides you spreading risk in case either drive stops working. Looking at your spec, assuming is mainly for gaming, I wouldn't go with the cpu cooler upgrade just the additional drive.

Thanks for your replys and suggestions, ill most likely keep the 1tb drive then, one question if i run out of space on the 1tb and need to download steam games onto drive 3 (the 4tb drive) do i just switch the download location or would i have to move all my steam folders?

i think you have to be signed up to the steam beta to install steam games to a different drive.

Steam, settings, account, beta participation, then opt into it. :)

Like keynes says, you dont need the H100I as the titan is fine. Although, you could get a nice overclock on that 2700k though! And you might be able to get four 120mm PWM fans on it!

Plus, it gives you a second drive for backup purposes. You can keep a copy of things like savegames or documents on the secondary drive to keep 'em safe! (er)
