Control Center problem on laptop

Hello everyone, I'm very new here, as I recently discovered where my laptop originated from. I have bought this laptop in The Netherlands via a specialist (AHUM) (tell you later) and having some issues with drivers, overheating/cooling, power supply that turned off, sending my laptop in its original neatly saved box, got a box back which looked like a truck ran over it, complained, they send me a neat box for only the laptop, not the one where the PSU could fit in too..
Then the keyboard that deteriorated and they claimed it to be my fingers, I told them NOT! finally got replaced by a UK keyboard (I want a US international) so sent it back, got another, after a while this one broke, shift key kept going for seconds while unpressed, they told me that US Int. was not available anymore, so they sent me instructions to clip the keys on that other keyboard they send me, this was Portuguese, they sent me another UK, this was only white led, and after telling them that, they could ship me a keyboard US int. RGB withing one day..... So it is possible after all!!!!

Well, had my perks with this company, and had the whole EU keyboard in house.....

but, I had to ventilate this in order the steps I made to find finally after two years the company that supplied my laptop. Her I am.... (How stupid of me, turn my laptop over, did that hundred times and never noticed it)

As I said, Control Center.. Standard my laptop had Control Center 2.0, but I wanted to see if there was a newer version...
For those of you who think fast and wants to help me out in asking the type under my laptop, here it is [Model: PA71EP] productcode: PA71EP6-G

So, Why can I not use, or why does Control Center 3.0 not work?
Any answer regarding this is very much appreciated...

You say you bought if from a 'specialist' in the Netherlands, was it new? Who has been providing the support you've had regarding the keyboard issues? The PA71EP-G is a Clevo chassis but that doesn't mean it was built by PCS, plenty of other vendors use Clevo chassis.

As far as Control Center is concerned, you'll need to download the latest version from the Clevo download site at https://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_down.asp?lang=en. I've taken a quick look and the latest version for your model is version 1.0.

Is this a PCSpecialist machine? Can you post your full specs from the order page?
I only have a bill from 2018.

I bought it from www.gamepc.nl and yes it was then brand new. They did the support, but I do not want to 'bother' them anymore, they probably give the wrong drivers anyway (LOL) At the bottom there is a sticker that says it is coming from.. well, see for yourself in the attached picture.
Been there, downloaded a few of them regarding the Control Center, but I have a CD where version 2.0 is delivered with the laptop, but I wanted to know, as goes for a lot of pc material, update, update, update, so, I thought, let's see if there is a newer version....
Saw no harm there... Going to try these three files I downloaded from Taiwan, see if that helps.

I've been advised by PCS that unless www.gamepc.nl use a different trading name when purchasing from PCS, they are not a valid PCS reseller.

I'm afraid that as a result we can't offer advice on here. I'm afraid you'll need to go back to gamepc. Sorry.

If I hear any different to the above I'll come back to you.

Not questioning what you said, but just want to understand it. If I sell my laptop in a year time to someone else and they came here to the forum to ask for help, no one can help him/her because I'm not an authorized reseller?

Additionally, I don't think it's @avandel 's fault, as he didn't know that the company was reselling PCS's laptops. If they're really not authorized, it's PCS's responsibility to identify who's making the orders and not sell to them anymore, or even sue them for reselling without authorization, right?

But I understand that you have helped him already, as Clevo's tw site is the official source of software and drivers for their laptops ;) I hope it works!

No, if you privately sell your laptop, there is a way of transferring any remaining warranty on it within your account / support area. It would only be polite if you were to still have it with some remaining warranty to pass that on to someone else, this would then (I assume) transfer over the spec details and even the upgrade and download pages I would hope to the new person.

They could then get some assistance with it.

As for sales through other websites, its buyer beware I would have thought - proper due diligence on who your are buying from. There is nothing to say that that website has not had a part exchange of a PCS laptop and reconditioned several parts and then sold them on or even swapped pieces in and out - that is not PCS responsibility to see what has happened. The warranty lies with the selling firm so he/she would have to return to them.

Even when you buy a laptop from Currys PC World, you would go through them regarding the warranty - they may then arrange for you to return it to PCS but your contract is with the seller not PCS (there may however be some way of registering with PCS - I dont know but again that would be told to you by Currys - if they still sold PCS)

You would have to transfer your warranty to the person you were selling it to, that's how it's "authorised".

That's private sales anyway, completely separate thing. This place are officially selling PCS kit without PCS authority, that's very no no.

To be fair, how are we to know what they're saying is the truth? How are we to know that's not a stolen laptop? Any company would take the same approach, otherwise you raise a far more riskier issue of aiding stolen or misappropriated goods. It is always down to the buyer to be sure that where they're buying from is official. What PCS do with that company is up to them, it's not for us to question, it's their brand that's affected.

I contacted PCS for advice on this. The issue was that the OP bought it new from a company that PCS don't recognise as legit partners. And this company has clearly done work on the laptop. So there is something strange going on here.

Well, guys, don't argue over spilled milk, I have a contact to go to, a website to find my drivers if needed, and am never gonna buy there again, regarding the pc stuff.
That all said, thanks all for anticipating and giving me insight, I tried to upgrade my ControlCenter 2.0, version 1.0.23 or about the 2018 I think from may that year, I had to uninstall it totally, because it did not work after that, so, been busy a little bit with it, and sure if things go wrong, I think I must reinstall the laptop totally. There was some issues to begin with, the drivers did not kick in, and network was out, so.... problems, problems...

But, as I said, about the spilled milk, this is all history, if I ever run into problems again, I know now where to look for drivers, so, guys and gals, thank you and have a wonderful day.

I realise that this isn't your fault. Regarding Control Center, get the one on the Clevo download site that I linked to earlier. I don't think that chassis supports v3. 0.

Nope, you are prob. right... although I could not get the RGB working again, it took me an hour or two to get any positive reaction, and the original cd with the drivers, so, I am there where I started but only the HK_TRAY gives an error I do not understand. Something with DOT NET, but I had this tackled too, installed again, same problem... So, I get a message after a startup and I choose <continue>, that keeps m silent....
Must be something that was integrated into windows, and for some reason it failed... Never mind, I have my RGB glowing and that is fine (-:
