Hey there, just needa do quick check of the specs i have chosen in the configurator.

My current monitor is an acer nitro xv240y
(1080p 144hz )

I will be using the pc for gaming however, im currently studying CS and do want this system to carry me through the years. Are these specs good for me?

( i am gonna get a 3060 non ti when they release in late feb)

Your monitor is 1080p and a GPU 3060 you're looking to buy would be 12GB, probably for 1440p monitor, but not sure yet. For 1080p monitor you'd be looking at 3050 or 3050Ti, not 3060 (not sure yet).

M.2 SSD Intel isn't great due to a shorter lifespan (I've heard people talking, but not 100% sure if I'm right). Better M.2 SSD is PCS or Samsung! (y)

Great choice of CPU and PSU, and I'm even a fan of the Noctua coolers. If you like air - Noctua is the best, in my opinion.

The rest seems fine. It's a nice build overall (after my amendments) ;)

I don't think the Strix B550 is a good bet. I'd much rather have the Tuf X570-Plus Gaming: it has more PCIe 4 lanes (including two M.2 slots, if you ever end up in the future with two super-fast M.2 SSDs) and far better IO (I mean, who wants USB 2 on the back of their PC?)

I agree that the Noctua isn't necessary, but if you like its very particular aesthetic, it will do more for you than all the RGB in the world will!

(By the way, the downside of PCS is you will have a decent wait before you get your build. On the other hand, you can change it as often as you like until the build starts: if I were you I'd get my order in straight away and modify it if necessary afterwards so you keep your place in the queue.)

What if i receive the system and i cant find a gpu will it just not boot till i get it?

You’re pretty much there. Looking at the build objectively and with value for money in mind I would make a couple of comments...

The Noctua fan isn’t a necessary addition, the stock cooler will do the job without breaking sweat. If you picked it because you want a quiet system then a case change would be required. And I’m not taking anything away from the case when I say that, it’s a fantastic choice. But it is the open and airy kind and has two giant windmills in it so you’d essentially be getting the same amount of decibels with the bundled cooler fan as you would the Noctua. It’s an additional sixty quid spend for little to no benefit...

AMD chips love fast RAM but you’re on diminishing returns when you go above the 3200MHz mark for gaming. It’s in the arena of music and audio production/editing that the 3600MHz shines. So if you want to save some pennies, you can drop the RAM frequency down a touch. Or you could change to the RGB version which is 3200MHz and the same cost as your original option... but prettier 😜

Lastly... silver warranty for an extra fiver is a no brainer for the extra eleven months of peace of mind 🙂👍

I see that I can decide a dispatch after date. Would it be a good idea to put the "dispatch after date" after the release of the 3060?

yeah that sounds a good plan to me as well, that way if you do get hold of a 3060 before you can then bring that dispatch forward (i would have thought)
