Did anyone else have problems installing the Corsair Link program with Windows 8.1.
Upon first install the program wasn't working properly and wasn't showing the fan speeds of the Hydro 80i and you wasn't able to select the 3 default profiles of quite balanced or performance.
I did the usually uninstall delete folders reboot and reinstall and the same thing
After a bit of research I found out that corsair link has problems with windows 8.1 due to Selective Suspend on HID devices by default now
To fix this you can either
"Go into the registry and look for HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04. For each port/path string you see under this (numbers and ampersands smushed together), open the "Device Parameters" and change the FOUR DWORD settings to 0 (AllowIdleIrpInD3, DeviceSelectiveSuspended, EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled, SelectiveSuspendEnabled). Reboot."

or download the beta release 2.5.5145 which has a fix for this problem
I opted for the beta release
I downloaded this removed old version and installed beta and it now works properly. Since this I have now removed the beta version and gone back to the "official version" and it still works so I image the beta version contains a windows registry edit which fixes the problem.
I am a little disappointed that the corsair link program wasn't preinstalled with my pre installed version of windows or that there was no mention that you could have problems with corsair hydro 80i with windows 8.1
Anyway it's all working properly now and next time I have to reinstall windows hopefully the official release will already have this problem fixed.
Hope this helps anyone who buys a new pc and has the same problem it does seem that corsair link series are the main cpu coolers for pcspecialists now.
