Considering this spec for an Ubuntu 14.04 install.

Any feedback on driver availability and any other glitches/paper cuts?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get 9cell batteries for the Cosmos Series?

Thanks for your help...

Ron

You shouldn't have any issues with that spec I think. I dual booted it with w7 on my
Optimus V, no problems, can't see why you would have any.
