Cosmos VI Laptop Battery questions...

So my sister has just bought the Cosmos VI 15.6 Inch and is excited to get it, she is planning to keep it long term and I saw the battery option in the configurator... so if the battery dies and we need a new one where do we go, since most other places are very expensive! like I saw one for the Clevo chassis at £120!, I believe the PCSpecialist battery is much cheaper, so for a new battery do I go to you guys for a new battery and pay for the battery with shipping costs.. (hopefully the battery will last the warranty period) or will we be able to get another one so that you could hotswap the batteries (useful on long car trips)

Just for future info, PCS don't monitor these forums very often, it's moderated and frequented by customers and geeks who aren't affiliated with PCS.

To answer your question though, when you buy a system from PCS you create an account on their main website. Once you've purchased, within your account will be an "Upgrade" section where you can log in and select various components for upgrade or replacement, including batteries. You can have as many as you like and swap them as you go (dependent on the chassis). Your account also hosts all drivers for your machine should you need them although it's generally better to go direct to the clevo site for updated ones.

I'm quite sure the battery will last the warranty period. The battery on my PCS Optimus IV is still good and it's 4 years old.

The one thing that shortens Li-ion batteries more than anything else is heat, so by keeping the laptop as cool as possible you'll prolong the life of the battery (and the laptop). A cooling pad is perfect for this, but not using the laptop on your lap and/or on soft surfaces also helps a lot with battery life and laptop life.

Yeah, I expect it to but my sister is on about long journeys and so the battery extras will be good, although I don't know the account details, i know the email address and order number, I will look in the email to see if there is any future info, hopefully it wasn't deleted! (family member bought laptop)
