I took my PC to a LAN gaming session the other day and since I got back every time i boot up my PC i hear a few beeps and then i comes up with CPU overheating error and when i look at the temp on start up everything is fine but my CPU is at 165c. Is this something easy to fix or not or maybe a cable has come loose, any help what so ever is really appreciated.

165c? Doubt you would be sitting near the PC if the CPU was that hot :)
My guess is a temp sensor acting up.
Does the PC shut off at all during normal use?

No its absolutely fine although every now and then the fans with become really loud for a few seconds then die down but everything else is running fine.

I'd suggest opening up the case when you turn on the PC have a brief check to see if all the fans are spinning and if you get any mobo warning lights on.

It's likely an issue with the motherboards sensors. I used to get it, but I can't remember how i got rid of it lol.
