CPU overheating + shutting down PC

So basically my PC has been working great and one day when logging on I get two errors: CPU not found and CPU overheating. Through the power of YouTube I fixed the CPU not found issue and did a light dust inside which fixed the overheating issue. I bought some compressed air to do a more thorough cleaning. Before it came I went on it and after around 10 minutes the PC would shut off so I thought cool I'll just wait till I can properly clean it. I have just done this yet I am getting the same results. I did manage to install some software to check the temperature of the components and I believe it is still the CPU overheating. What else can I do?

Thanks in advance!

That cooler is not appropriate for that CPU, it will have been running full pelt even under medium loads, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's fully failed.

Just double check that the cable from the pump head is correctly on the CPU fan header on the board.

But even if it's come loose and connecting it restores operation, you need to upgrade that cooler, the system will eventually die, it's nowhere near powerful enough.

Oh damn, and I even did a pc spec check on here before buying it lol. I think everything is connected well but just to double check what am I looking for? Thanks

The cpu fan header, check that’s properly connected from the cooler

I think everything is working good. I did notice that the GPU fans aren't spinning but I think that that's because I wasn't running anything too intense.

What’s changed? Is the cooler now working? Have you checked temps?

It won't just suddenly work, if it's stating CPU fan not found it's because either a cable is loose, or the cooler pump has failed.

But either way, you need to change that cooler or the system won't last much longer.
