Currently saving for a new PC, won't get it for a while but does this look good?

NOTE - CPU would be Ryzen 5 3600 but is out of stock currently, so i put in the X instead.

Budget for this is around £800, aim is a PC that can game and record with OBS with no issue and maybe do some streaming, but this is not a priority.

See if you can save a bit more, buddy. You’re really putting yourself into a corner where you’ll be giving yourself no upgrade path and end up spending a whole lot more in the very near future to get a whole new unit.

Tweaks I’ve made put the build around £170 over your ideal budget but will open the door to you being able to change out the GPU in a couple of years time.

I’d keep the 3600X ideally, it’s a great chip. Dropped the RGB from the RAM as that’s money spent better elsewhere. Upped the GPU so you’ve got solid 1080p gaming under your belt. Changed the HDD storage to lower the cost, you can always add more in later as it’s one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades possible. The standard AMD cooler should be more than adequate for your build, combined with the airy case swapped in. The PSU was very low end so changed for something much better, we don’t recommend scrimping on that if possible. Also upped the wireless card to a faster one with Bluetooth and the silver warranty for an extra fiver.

Looks like you plan to import your own Windows license over so you’ve saved some cash there, could you perhaps cannibalise some storage from that PC and bring it over to save costs?

And finally... I’ve got no idea what monitor you plan to use with this? I’ve specced for 1080p 144Hz so if you tell me you’ve got a 1440p ultrawide I’m bang in trouble 😆

I’ll put my spec in the next post...

(And don’t use Chrome! 😛)

And yes, I intend to use a 1080p 144hz monitor with this. The HDD is my old computer is a little old and is prone to crashing, so I think it'd be worth buying a new one. I also intend to use Opera GX when I get the PC but I obviously need to install it, but I assumed that not having an OS would mean that my browser choice is irrelevant?

Chrome is a bad choice for a browser, it eats a lot of resources compared to others.
Also, if not buying now, then there is no point trying to put a spec together. New GPU's and possibly even new CPU's given current release info available so all the pricing will likely change quite a bit. As its a 1080p monitor too.. the GPU's most suited are all likely to get a little cheaper with new series release.

Best advice is try to save as much as you can, see if you can up the budget a little that way.
Also, if replacing an old system, you can transfer Win 10 across and both Win 7 and 8.1 can be upgraded to Win 10 for free, saving £100 on th e budget to help elsewhere with the spec.

When you are actually ready to buy, then come back and try and put a spec together and see where you're at.
