Decent long lasting gaming PC?

Any reccomendations? I want it to last a few years but will upgrade when needed and where needed. I play games such as Diablo 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, DotA 2... etc
Please let me know if anything is overkill as im happy to change anything in the order.

Great spec if you ask me :)

The CPU is overkill, no games will use 8 cores. You would be better off going with a 6core or 4 core.

The RAM is also overkill, drop it to 8GB :)

As Corfate said 16GB of RAM is a tad overkill for gaming.

But one thing I would do would be to get a Caviar Black hard drive rather than the bog standard Sata III one, it'll be faster for booting and loading

Unless you have a particular reason for sticking with AMD go for a GTX 680 it's better and the price is the same. If you want to SLI 2x 680s later on you'll need min a 850W PSU :yes:

Last thing for the keyboard and mouse you could have a look online first you can generally find them cheaper from other retailers (amazon..) won't be a huge gap but it's worth a look.

Did want to go with 680 but I wanted to take advantage of fast track and all the 680's are already sold :/
Would like a computer sooner rather than later as ive already sold the one ive got and using my iphone to post here :p
is it really worth the 16 day wait?

Well, the 680 is the single best card on the market at the moment, so it's up to you :p The AMD card you posted will play everything on Ultra, just not as higher FPS as the 680.

You won't see any difference really, it's whether you want piece of mind you have the best GPU on the market or another great card :)

In the case of hardly seeing a difference, heres how im going to play it.
I'll buy the 7970 now for fast track and at a later date (Not too far) sell it and get the 680 or whatever is top end of the market at that time as getting a PC quickly is one of my main priorities now.

with that budget i'd certainly get a intel cpu, an intel quad core with be twice as strong as amd's quad core, it will cost a bit more, but certainly worth it. I'd wait to see the pricing for ivy bridge.

Ah right. No, you won't see any benefits. I've looked all over the AMD configurator, and can't find a 7970 anywhere -.- Will you be wanting to crossfire later down the line?
