Hi guys :)

I am soon to be purchasing PC on PCS, was meant to be ordering it on the weekend but something bad occured.

I am going to be getting the Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Champion, and I want to make use of it by getting some really good speakers. But most of the ones I am seeing are USB connection, anyone recommend any good ones for the soundcard? Max I would spend on it is £250, but can stretch if needs be.

Thanks guys!

What do you plan to use the system for? gaming? music production?

anyway, I would advise against that soundcard, have a read of this, clicky

I looked at the same card when I was hunting for a soundcard, if you want the recon3d version, just get the standard one, theres little difference according to that review.

I have an asus DX costs about 50-60 quid and works a treat for everything I want it to do, including encoding games in to 5.1 Dolby Digital via optical cable to my tritton ax pro's. Bloody fantastic!

If you want a similar setup, ya want either the recon 3d card, or asus dx, and a top of the range digital sound system, or a digital gaming headset,

Note, if you want in game Dolby digital, make sure what ever sound system you get can decode Dolby Digital - Example this one. http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/speaker-system-Z906

Gaming now, and music production later down the line.

As Tom said you can do much better on the sound card, they are not so general these days, different ones for different purposes.
It's the same with speakers. What's your priority as you say gaming then music production, If you get that sound card, any speakers made for 'pc' or pc headsets they will most likely be wonderful for gaming but a joke for music production.

I'm in the exact same boat as yourself at the moment and I have done a lot of research. (this really only applies if you are serious about music production) It seems the best option would be to spend on the sound card, get a mid range pc speaker system ie Logitech Z506 and under or most Creative stuff, then spend some cash when you need to on some half decent studio monitors. Around £150-250 would secure you a decent pair.

pretty good sound cards, well some of the best, then again if your serious about music production then m-audio make some good external cards that you would use and audio interfaces for any instrument inputs or midi controllers.

Dude it's confusing so sorry if this does not make much sense, I'm trying my best.

It really does all come down to what you really want to do. Simply- Gaming Priority, half decent card and speakers your laughing Music priority, spend some cash and it will pay off.
