Deliveries to France, customs etc

Hi, the UK site alluded to possible customs charges and referred me to pcspecialist.fr (hinting that it would explain all - it didn't). The french site recognised my uk site log in but I had to start my order from scratch. Anyhow, the French site's quote was 100 euros more expensive for the same thing (quelle surprise). My question - if I ordered the machine from the french site, would it get built in the uk anyhow and still incur possible customs charges?

If you are fench, you have to buy from the French website to have the tva included.
You have to know that the French website include the gold warranty that is not mandatory on the English site
And there is a bug what you go from the English site to the French one (or vice-versa)

And to answer your question, all the computer are build in England

From a French to another ;)

If you were to order from the UK site, then it doesn't include taxes, so you'd have to pay that spearately to release the parcel from customs.

If you buy from the French site, it includes all taxes and customs charges.

Thank you. (Tron, I'm a Les Anglais) The UK quote is €870 and the same machine from the French site is €1051,00 - €181 seems like a huge difference. Surely the customs wouldn't be that much?

I believe it's standard 20% for computer equipment.

Remember, you don't pay any tax if ordering from UK until it gets to customs. So you'd be paying far less than someone in the UK who is paying the additional 20% UK Tax.

pcspecialist.fr is no longer displaying the tax and other charges, which is weird. I emailed them to ask yesterday

Check you have France set as the shipping destination, I noticed before when on German site it had my “ship to” at bottom of screen still set to Ireland so it showed prices without VAT. Once I changed it to Germany the VAT was added.

I have the same problem on the other way (when i configure something for the english forum^^)
If i'm not wrong, you have to check on the top of the page if the "delivery country" is not set on UK.

(when i have to do a config' here, i always have to check the country, the monetary unit and the delivery country on the configurator ^^)
