dell laptop wireless problem

Hi, I use a dell laptop for work, and use a wired connection with dhcp at my desk, but I am a network support engineer and use my laptop when faultfinding network issues all over the sites that I look after.

Which means I constantly am disconnecting from a wired connection, and automatically picking up the nearest wireless access point to continue a valid network connection.

The problem I have, is the wireless adapeter sometimes fails to turn on. And any attempt to turn it on fails. The only way I can kick it back into action, is to power restart the pc.

This is very intermittant, and most of the time it is OK switching between wired and wireless connections, but when it does happen, it is very inconvenient.

It is a fairly new model I believe, running windows 10. Lattitude 5480

I'll leave suggestions to others far better versed, but I would recommend the Dell forums if you're not already ventured there.

Having a Dell laptop myself and with the small office PC's being Dells I've found it a good source of info for known issues and workarounds.

That rather sounds more like a hardware issue than a Windows or driver issue to me. As above, your best option is the Dell forums, these fora are primarily for the support of PC Specialist custom built PCs and laptops.
