The B450 Plus has
2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports rear
1 x USB 3 type C port rear
2 x USB 3 ports rear
2 x USB 2 ports rear

So it has 6 'normal' USB ports at the rear, plus a type C, plus the 2 from the case at the front.

Thanks again - appreciate your guidance. I have three further queries which would be great to get your views on.

You've said it's more worthwhile to get a quieter CPU than a more expensive cooler based on what is going to influence noise levels more. However I just want to check that the standard cooler will be good enough to keep my system cool whilst playing lots of music samples (note - these aren't external instruments which I record but the inbuilt FL studio sounds)? The reason I am focusing on this is that my current laptop's fan (the laptop isn't that powerful - 2013 model with i3 processor) gets very loud and hot when I use the music production software.

Second, am I right in thinking that when it comes to monitors I can pretty much pick any and it would be compatible with this PC - including having 2 monitors?

Third, once I receive the PC do I need to do anything further (eg to the settings or BIOS) to get the most out of it? Please let me know if there is another site or link which you'd recommend me reading if it has all this type of information on.

Thanks!

With the Wraith Stealth installed the R5 3600 maintained a 4 GHz clock speed out of the box during our 1 hour long Blender stress test. This is an extreme stress test, so having it peaking at just 80 degrees is pretty good, especially given it was virtually silent.

The wraith stealth being the name of the stock AMD cooler for the 3600. So it should be fine.

? The reason I am focusing on this is that my current laptop's fan (the laptop isn't that powerful - 2013 model with i3 processor) gets very loud and hot when I use the music production software.
That's comparing apples to oranges rather than apples to apples. For a start, laptops will tend to have smaller fans. Smaller fans need to spin faster than larger ones and can be a lot noisier. Not to mention the completely different cooling systems. Also laptops - like desktops - require periodic dusting. And laptops are perhaps even more likely to need the occasional repaste.

Second, am I right in thinking that when it comes to monitors I can pretty much pick any and it would be compatible with this PC - including having 2 monitors?
Pretty much anything will work. But some can be a better buy than others. What did you have in mind?

Nope :) Switch it on, complete the Windows out of box experience (where you set some user preferences for Windows) and off you go.
