Desktop for work / some gaming

Hi all,

I'd appreciate some feedback on this spec. It's largely for work (web stuff, but not particularly graphic heavy) hence the two monitors. Haven't bought a new PC in years so not really up to speed with the specs.

Do new monitors come with the right cables or do they need to be bought as well? HDMI to DVI? Would I need an adapter to run two monitors?

It should do fine but I would personally spend just a little more to get something a little more current state relevant. It would really depend on the likelihood of you wanting to upgrade the PC in the future rather than simply replace it.

Additionally, do you have any real need for Win10 Pro? It's a bit of a premium to pay but understand that it may be necessary depending on your domain uses. Do you not currently have a Win license that you could transfer to this build?

Thanks Scott,

I started with one of the recommended builds and worked backwards a bit to bring the cost down. I wouldn't imagine I'll be upgrading in the future - I'm using a PCS laptop I got 6 years ago just now (which is still running OK tbh, but getting a little slow) - it's more the convenience of working from a desktop / dual monitor now I'm working from home that I'm looking to improve on.

Re: Win10 Pro, I didn't really think about it when selecting (buying for business, so just selecting the option), but looking at the feature comparison you're right I probably could use the home version (only licence I have is for laptop which I'm continuing to use anyway).

What would you look at changing?

Presuming £1200 budget with Win home? Or thereabouts?

Few small changes I would recommend. No real need for the 1660, the 1650 Super more than has you covered. Allows space for the proper performance upgrades that will offer performance and future potential....
