Hello

I made an order of my new rig and received it as promised except of free witcher game. I am super pleased and happy of my new build however very disappointed that I did not receive my free witches game as it was part of the purchase I made.

I contacted online help and they said PCP ran out of the free Witchers games and that I would not be getting this game

This is unacceptable as it clearly stated in my invoice that I was going to get Witchers for free!

Unfortunately as with all the offers from NVidia/AMD, I believe there is a limited stock and its only whilst stocks last, looks like they must have run out :(
And if PCS don't have any more then there's probably little they can do :(

I am sure it indicated T&C apply before you place your order and as Rakk mentioned it runs while stock last in most cases.

This also happened with me, the game on offer was Dying Light at the time. I didn't buy the graphics card just for the game but I thought it was a nice extra. When I emailed saying I hadn't got a code they said that they'd send one as soon as Nvidia supplied more codes. 2 months later I email to see what's happening and they're like "Oh we're not getting any more, didn't we tell you? Soz."

@Rakk/Keynes,

I understand but why would you advertise free games if its subject to availability? at least put it as small text that its subject to availability. Like I said its very disappointing to not receive what you thought you would at the time of payment (not dispatching).....

All the advertisements I have seen for the free promotional offers always say subject to Ts&Cs and one of those is that its subject to availability (or similar...). However I do appreciate its disappointing not to receive a free perk when purchasing something.

An example being the current Batman Arkham Knight Promotion: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/desktop-pcs/nvidia-980ti-batman/

I do not understand why PCS would not reserve games for the orders already made and paid, its very heartbreaking for otherwise incredibly pleasant experience with PCS.

It's nothing to do with pcs, it's an nvidia promotion, nvidia control stocks.

I found it to be quite disappointing as well, as I didn't receive my free copy of dying light with my defiance laptop (GTX970M) a month ago.
I don't know if you keep track of how many promotional keys you have from Nvidia - if so it would be nice if you implemented a system which only showed the promotion as long as there are keys available.

Well, it is a disgraceful relief to see I am not the only one with this problem.

I have contacted PCS today with the same history, some of us here, share. However, I’d like to share some issues with you, guys.

PCS Support Team replied to my emails, and by his tone it was obvious from the beginning: PCS will not issue me with ANY CODE.

After exposing my case, the purchase of an GTX 980M within the promo time frame *22/May/15, where deadline was 31/May/15, and so described in my invoice. Mr Lazzarano suggested me to contact directly to NVidia to see whether they'll honour the promotion in my case.
NVidia unfortunately does not provide any code to end customers. However, they stated all codes previously assigned to qualifiying GTXs will be still able to redeem even though after the period.

The funny part is Mr Lazzarano stated in his first email, PCS had left over some codes but "deactivated" once the promo expired. I have complained they should have included it in my package regardless the code would work or not, in the end, it belonged to me once I bought the GTX.

Looking at what NVidia has said to me, and GPS not even bothered to warn me the promo might be at risk of rendering useless if dispatch time was after 31/May. It sounds very strange. Even though, Mr Lazzarano told me I should have arranged “fast track delivery”… then why didn’t PCS advise me about this??

For me, this issue leaves the door open to misinterpretation. Because, if you think logically NVidia will assign promo codes to the all stock supplied. Then the codes shall become active once the purchasing date is logged in. I assume NVidia like all companies, will expect the best case scenario: all its products sold out. I mean, as example, if Nvidia supplies with 100 GTXs, then 100 codes shall be also supplied.

Well, I felt like throwing my rant. Specially when I’m not sure how legal could be to invoice an item not provided at the end. Customer rights???
I feel deceived/cheated and seeking legal advice sounds a bit extreme and pain in there for me.

About the laptop, I have no complains at all

Regards
*apologies for the grammar… I write like a ‘tard when I'm furious

Completely agree and had same experience with PCS customer service.

My purchase was also within promotion period.

This is disrespectful behaviour from PCS towards its new customers. Sounds like false advertisement to me...

It has been said already in this thread, but since forever and a day, free game codes from any company are limited in supply. If said company sells a lot of the required cards in this case in the timeframe, they will run out. Nothing here is disgusting, disrespectful or otherwise untoward.

This is the blurb underneath the current offer for Batman. It isn't hidden in loads of text, just a simple explanation of the codes, where they are from and how they work as an offer.

Bundling in here getting all het up feeling like some victimised group isn't going to get a code, but there simply isn't any to give.

Vent about it? Absolutely. But don't try and make PCS look like some big bad guy for adhering to the rules of the offer, when they state up front what the deal is.

(Hmm, not being on the side of the rambling ranting masses. Odd feeling :) )

If I were PCS, I would have notified potential client that free item has run out before they had made purchase, as opposed to "surprising" them after they had made purchase!

I am sure for majority of cases free item influenced purchase decision to a certain degree...

Simple as that.

Probably worth taking into account going forward....

Best,
PCS fan :)

Oh so I am not the only getting middle finger from PCS?! Yeah I also didn't receive Witcher 3 (I guess no one did, cos PCS didn't have any copies in the first place). But considering the seriousness of problems I am having with my new purchase, Witcher 3 is too minor of a problem to care about.

Unfortunately these offers are of limited stock (as it states in the T&Cs) so not everyone will get them - and this is NVidias choice how many they send/allocate not PCS's - though I realise this isn't what you want to hear.

Yeah I also didn't receive Witcher 3 (I guess no one did, cos PCS didn't have any copies in the first place).
I know you are upset but please try not to make such accusations, I remember seeing threads where people had got their Witcher3 code (see here for an example: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?41643-The-witcher-3-activation-code-query

It clearly says right there that it's whilest stock lasts. They have no obligation to tell you they don't have it in stock and they probably didn't notice until they had accepted some orders whilest still advertising it.

Also, most people won't be influenced by the free game, especially when your PC will easily be in excess of £700. You're either going to buy the PC or you're not, no one buys a whole new PC for a game and no one will buy from a PCS over another company because they're giving a free game, since the majority of companies will be running the offer too and you should be choosing the company with the best reputation, not the one with the free game.

True - that's why I said influenced to a certain degree

We could have easily gone for same model but cheaper GPU from elsewhere (ones without free game offer)

That's the whole point that they kept advertising whilst no stock was left... caused frustration to many clients like myself who could have easily rated PCS five star!

Yeah I also didn't receive Witcher 3 (I guess no one did, cos PCS didn't have any copies in the first place).

I only want to address this point, I received my copy, they definitely had game keys to redeem through GOG. Insinuating that this was some sort of bait and switch is simply not true.
