Do not ring pc specialists up

First I want to say its quite a expensive line, it not a premium rate call but it uses the same type of phone scam the government uses . Second the info I got was all hums and maybes. If you need to get in contact pcspecialist I would suggest email. At least then you don't start making judgments of the person or company your contacting.
Don't judge a company by its staff on the phone.

Hi,

I'm not sure how you could consider it a phone scam, it's charged at a maximum of 5p per minute (I recall it tells you this while you're on hold) and you can view the call waiting times in advance here: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/call-waiting/

I think most people would agree this is very transparent compared to most companies, and it's not like it's an 0845 number cost wise. It might be more expensive if you're calling from a mobile (as most calls are) but as an FYI, you might be interested to know PCS are looking to change this in the near future to an 03 number: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...mber-Change-amp-Customer-Service-Announcement

Indeed there are other good ways of getting in touch though.

I found that even better than email is the Tech Support Section in the Your account page.

Its easy to track and tend to fine they respond quicker than email in my experience.

As for the telephone Scam part i agree with Tom above

Why is it a scam? The rate is indicated as well as the waiting time.

Yea I am sorry I shouldn't call it a scam when it has become a industry standard these days. Sorry I did not look at the call waiting times. Lesson Learned.

This is the part where everyone else disagrees with the OP :)

What I would suggest is (if you haven't already...not going to check) posting here what's up, so that the forum bods might be able to help.

Or not, free country etc :)

Sorry to hear your phone contact with us was not satisfactory, was it a sales call, support, tracking or RMA?

Also we are changing our phone service in the next few months, see Tom's post.

I've always found PCS offer spot on support through the phonelines.

like Smoke, I tend to use the tech support section now. Unless immediate support/updates are required.

I've only ever called PCS once, spoke to a delightful young man who was extremely helpful and got me rolling within minutes. Should have got his name I could have bigged him up.

I think my wait time was about four seconds or so.

Young man? Probably Mooesh, I would have said Jak but he sounds a bit older :)

I have had to call tech help several times when i 1st got my pc in November as there was a problem, I found them very helpful, you have to realise they go through different fault solving ideas until they can fix the problem (if they can through you and also they can only go on the info that you give them!), and the tech help through the pc specialist page was great also!
I'll be honest the calls did cost a bit as we had to go through lots of stuff, but if you want your New pc sorted quicker its worth it!
