Hi so i have a small issue that's concerning me with my PC...

I have it all set up and everything downloaded and working BUT:
After ive finished with it on a night i switch it off at the plug...(after ive shut it down properly ofc) only to find in the morning when i hit the power on button the pc powers up and the monitor doesnt come on and the motherboard DRAM_LED lights up red constantly...if i then hit the reset button and reset the PC red light goes off and the screen then comes on...
whats wrong??? because it seems to be doinbg this every time and i really dont wanto have to resend the pc back and have to wait longer because i have it all set up :/

I dont want it to be doing my system harb by resetting it every time?

i also have to say that im currently using a spare 15 inch dell monitor until my main monitotr arrives on tuesday...any help???

I will ofc be phoning pc specialist on monday to find out properly thoe

thanks Ben

Are you alright poking about the internals of the computer? If so do you have more than 1 stick of RAM installed? You could try removing all but 1 module, trying to repeat the problem if it still occurs then try swapping the module to a different slot, if it still happens swap for the 2nd stick of RAM and see if that solves it.

Otherwise it could be a PSU issue, motherboard issue, GPU issue the list is fairly long on this i'm afraid. Most discussions on the web relate to the RAM so I would guess that you might have a faulty RAM module, if that is the case it is very easy for PCS to send you a new on to try yourself and you wont need to send the PCS back to them if you are willing to try it yourself.

Have you been inside the case to fiddle with anything since you got it? For example have you moved the RAM to different slots than PCS original installed them? Added more of your own RAM? Anything at all?

All i have done is connected monitor, keyboard and mouse and the 1 side fan that comes on the pannel door of the HAF X Case... i have 4 sticks of ram (32gb) 2400hz ram but havent touched anything else really...the H80I cooler is blocking 2 of the ram sticks which makes it 2 hard to remove 2 of the ram sticks without removing the cooler and im not sure what id be doing allthough im fine inserting ram if the cooler wasnt in the way ?

Well I would give PCS a call tomorrow see if they can advise any simple things that may fix it. All I can think of is a component is playing up, i understand about the cooler blocking the RAM so i would just leave everything as is until PCS give you an idea what they think is wrong.

Post back with what they say, would be nice to know what the fault is so i can point anyone else in the right direction if it isn't RAM.

So annoyed its untrue, already had to run the repair tool from having to turn on twice...1ce the power then the reset button and in doing so its restored my pc to a earlier time before I downloaded everything which took 7 hours... the red lights are still messing about and now 1 is on that says Boot_device_LED phoning PCspecialist to get this sorted Monday morning...I want them to look at whats happening and get this sorted...I wouldn't mind when they bring it back that they have someone check its all working properly before leaving because I don't want this happening a second time ! Cant believe this :s wtf

Am I allowed to take my PC down in person rather than wait for collection to speed up the process? and how long are repairs usualy? ie: if its a small repair can they check it there and then and tell me if its something or nothing and simply fix it and I can ask them in person exactly what to do?

Why the 2nd thread? Your 1st one is only 2 down from the top at the moment.

I believe if you phone then you can arrange for it to be dropped off, however Monday they might be busy dispatching the last of the orders for peoples Christmas delivery so they might not be able to get it sorted before Christmas even if you can drop it off. Not sure though, maybe if you can collect it Tuesday it might work.

As I said in your other thread it could be anything that's causing the problem, have you tried re seating the GPU? Unplugging all the other drives apart from the OS drive, pull out any expansion cards like sound or wireless then try it. I know its a lot of work and it sucks but it might save you a trip into the PCS building. Basically you might have to pull out everything that's not the CPU and the HDD with the OS on it. Thought unless you know what your doing I don't know if its a brilliant idea to be doing that to be honest. I still think the RAM is the main culprit here but I could be wrong.

Can you post your full spec?

I've merged both threads together as you had replies on both. But like Mantadog says, you only need one thread as its the same issue.

PS, hope ya get it sorted.
