Dual Channel DDR3 @669MHz

Hi.

I just install new ram, 2x4gb, and Speccy reports 669MHz from them. Is it supposed to be half, or should it read 1333MHz?

Yes it should show about 667, its dual channel therefore it generally gets reported as half what it claims to be.

I now have a spare 4gb stick, if I insert that, would the dual channel capabilities be removed?
