New Editing machine spec we are thinking of.

Uses - heavy 4K video editing workflow with Premier Pro, special FX work using After FX plus additional VR content, additionaly some gaming
Editing speed is critical plus rendering file duplications for different platforms / devices via Handbrake
We store all RAW footage on externals
Monitors - curently use LG 27UD58-B

Rough idea of what we are considering

Could you possibly go back to the post to forum page and include the Unqie Configurable URL from the bottom of it please? Just makes it easier to go in and edit than redo a spec from scratch. Thank you

Can you also let us the asbolute maximum budget just so we have a ceiling?

I'm not an editor so can't advise but I don't see much wrong with what is suggested.
Apologies, edited the above post to include the Unqie Configurable URL, ceiling is prob around £10k

Given your useage and budget, I would unquestionably go with a full custom loop liquid cooled build, the GPU's will greatly benefit, plus the CPU would benefit from an overclock for your workload and custom loop will help greatly with that also.

I think you mean an open loop, no? Closed loop is an AIO. I agree, though, that a Liquid build makes sense here.

Sorry, yeah, open loop, the question is would @johwoo be ok with the annual maintenance required on a custom loop build?

This involves flushing the water loop and reservoir, and replacing the liquid with premix. You may be able to get away with only doing it once every 2 years, all depends on your environment.

If that's gonna be unreasonable given your workload (if it's a critical project PC required 24/7), then I'd suggest a standard build with an AIO on the CPU, but then I'd suggest buying some Hybrid GPU's from elsewhere as PCS unfortunately don't stock these. These essentially strap an AIO closed loop (fully sealed) watercooler onto the GPU graphics die, so you can maintain far far lower temps and therefor average higher clock boosts. They are more expensive but I think you'd see a worthwhile gain in performance over the long term as well as reduced failure in the long term.

I've been running a hybrid GTX1080 Founder Edition (custom job) for around 5 years now, never seen temps go above 60 and have been able to reach far higher overclocks.

For the budget, I would probably squeeze in Dual GPU's.

Plus I'd probably keep it on Windows 10 for stability.

Yeah, I missed the Windows 11.

As to the Dual GPUs, none of the Liquid configurators lists a second GPU as an option, although you can get a Dual GPU water block which seems strange?
Oh really? That must be a bug, if that's the case, I'd put through the order and then speak to PCS as they will certainly accommodate dual GPU's.

Would need to check the rendering use to see if dual GPUs would be worthwhile I would think. I know that After Effects would only use one but I think Premiere Pro can make decent use of multiples when doing certain rendering. Not convinced that it would be worth it right enough.

Change left over from 10k no bother :D

That is a limitation for us. The machine is needed daily and more or less 24/7, heavy editing and fx processing at least 4/7 days so taking it out the workflow for a week or so for servicing would not be an option unless absolutley necessary

Yeah, I expected that, in that case your build with the hybrid GPU's I linked would be my recommendation

I still don't think the crazy extreme build is required, especially on the GPU front. I would definitely look at purchasing the GPU elsewhere, but I would be looking at 1.... and it would be the 3090Ti.

I would contact PCS regarding the M2 drives. I've selected a 500GB primary, a 2TB secondary and I would recommend adding a 4TB 3rd drive. With the budget and understanding on the level of use you have, I would fully expect an on-site redundancy system that could forego a storage drive. This would be beneficial as I would want to keep the internals minimalist as possible. The Firecudas have excellent write endurance so I would absolutely use them for the main work & fast storage options. The 980 pro will come into its own for the OS and main Program drive.

Didn't select any additional luxuries as it seemed like maximum selection loading more than anything else. This doesn't add to performance in any way and it can often hinder it.

Oh, I would contact PCS regarding the RAM as well. With such a build I am sure they would test out the faster option available in 64GB guise if you requested. This would absolutely be beneficial.
