Has anyone else figured out the solution to the problem with the cd tray opening up as soon as press power button to start the laptop?
although its a minor problem its my dads laptop which i configured through pcspecialist and the laptop is genuinely awesome performance wise and gfx wise etc. However this silly problem has my dad literally biting my ears off to fix it. I'm usually pretty good at fixing any pc hardware problems and building them etc but when it comes to laptops plus the fact its windows 8 well..... you know its a bit annoying when i cant seem to find ANYTHING on the internet on how to stop this problem..
The drive works fine plays cds etc. Its just a minor annoyance to my dad... it only seems to happen when i press the power button at switch on!
if anyone has figured this out yet please enlighten me. I updated the drives firmware to the newest version from Samsung site but that hasn't helped either.
And to be honest the bios settings on this laptop are so limited that the only thing i tried was putting hard disk to boot first.. but the drive still pops open whether there is a disk in it or not...
l also tried removing the device from device manager and restarting the laptop but it still does it.
I have no idea if theres a setting in windows 8 somewhere i need to change or if its a hardware problem that's wired up wrong or something.
