I'm looking to buy a entry level 1440p gaming pc. I have a budget of around £1500 but willing to stretch to £1700 if its definitely worth it! budget is just the pc. I'm getting this for Christmas and I really don't have a clue about PCs, so any help would be greatly appreciated. If you guys can help me with a build and any suggestions for a monitor that would be great! Thanks!

I would definitely be looking at 1440p with this budget. You just commented in another thread and I agree: that system looks a good place to start for you.

I'd start with a monitor. There's one obvious choice: the Dell G2724D, which can be had for under £200 from Amazon.

Then I'd do a build like this one:

Case

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Six Core CPU (4.0GHz-5.2GHz/38MB CACHE/AM5)

Thank you very much! would it be worth slightly streching the budget, would it do anything for performance that would be worth the upgrade? Also in terms of monitors, does it matter that much as long as its 1440p, good hertz and response time? as i see that one is out of stock at the minute. Sorry for so many questions, I appreciate your help

That's a pity: was in stock earlier today. I'd go for the Gigabyte M27Q (or maybe the G27Q) instead. Both are less than £250.

Then for how I'd improve the build...

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.3GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Upgraded CPU
Motherboard

Power Supply

Depends what you want. Colour? RGB? Size?

The Fractal Focus 2 is a good option if you like RGB. If you like a sleek black look, I'd suggest the Fractal Pop cases, though the Pop Air cases that I think are much better are only available by doing "send in your own case". (But some of them are really cool, like this one or this one.)

yeah i like the fractal focus 2, im also a fan of PCS Prism TG Black ARGB Mid Tower Case. Is this a good option? i just like the look, would it effect air flow etc compared to the fractal focus?

The Fractal case is a way better choice out of those two. It has really good airflow. I wouldn't be nearly so confident about the PCS one.

also thinking of getting a second monitor, do you have any recommendations? one that is 60hz and not super expensive. However im thinking of getting a dual monitor arm, so i need one that will fit both monitors ( Gigabyte M27Q) do you have any suggestions? thanks for your help!

Hey! I'm about to place my order soon and had a couple of questions. How good is the cooling with the "PCS Frostflow 150 series"? I'm cool with stretching my budget a bit to make sure my PC stays at a good temp while gaming gaming, especially since I've heard great things about the "Corsair 400D Airflow case" you picked, and want to ensure i have good cooling along with this case. Also, does this case come with RGB? I would reallyt like to have some on my pc (check out the examples in the attached files). Thanks for all your help!

Well that case only comes with a single fan on the front, and one on the rear.

The cooler you have chosen has black fans...

If you want RGB everywhere like in the picture, then you'd either need the 4000X case (which comes with Corsair ARGB fans)...

...or add Corsair 3-fan kit...

...and finally a Corsair H100i/H115i Elite Capellix or Corsair Link AIO cooler (which have ARGB fans) for the top of the case (and if you want the LCD screen, then it's the Elite LCD version you'd need)...

thanks! ive configured my build to the rgb version of the same RAM, then changed the cooler to Corsair H100i. How can i change the fans for my build, like the ones in the images i attached earlier?

You can select the 3 x Corsair AF120 fan kit…or (maybe cheaper) switch to Corsair 4000X case (although it might only be available in white at the moment).

If you go for the fan kit, the online tool might complain about too many fans, so you’d have to call PCS to get them to swap the front fan for this fan kit…as I said, the case change would be simpler if you’re happy with a white case.
