Ethernet disconnects after a few hours, reboot fixes, annoying though.

Just started doing this today, really annoying no idea why. Luckily my PC has a wifi module too although that takes a while to activate.

So normal working on the PC then connectivity goes, shortly afterwards the ethernet icon in task bar goes and is replaced with the globe icon. I can connect using wifi at this point, but if I want ethernet, it's reboot time. I haven't noticed it doing it if I use a particular program or process it literally just dies. Rest of the network is unaffected, just my PC.

Any ideas?

Can you launch device manager, and expand the Network Adapter section and post a screenshot here please? Similar to this:

Right click on the Intel I225 adapter and uninstall it. Restart windows and let it detect and reinstall drivers. Then open device manager and right click on the I225 adapter, choose Properties, then Advanced. Look for Speed and Duplex and change to 1.0Gbps Full Duplex. Restart again and see if that makes a difference?

Edit: Also run Windows Update and install any available updates, including drivers under Optional Updates, if present

I take it Nord is not connected at these times?

no, no Nord connection, I've rebooted my modem mode VM superhub 4 and am going to wait to see if it reoccurs, if it does I'll include event viewer stuff and see if that brings anything up.

Odd how it just appeared out of nowhere like that.
