external hard disk cannot work - Type C

Hi all,

I found that the external ssd hard disk with USB type C cannot be used.

Error code is code 10

I've tried restart, windows updates, driver update.. almost everything. I can confirm the hard disk works well.

OS: Windows 11
Mother board: Z690 gaming X
Hard disk: M2 ssd Thunderbolt 3

I am very grateful to sck451 for bringing this issue to my attention. I would sincerely appreciate any help in resolving the problem.

Which make and model external SSD is it? Are you sure it's not thunderbolt?

Thunderbolt and USB C are 2 separate things although they use the same connector. But a Thunderbolt device won't work in a USB C port, it needs a proper thunderbolt port with the lightning logo as in the image below
