I have a question about external Raid solutions for video editing (currently using HD Sony XAVC/ProRes/Gh4 4K codecs... editing long form/short form/ a bit of everything..). Currently on a MacPro 4.1 with Esata/FW 800 G-Raid drives which along with the Mac are being replaced due to age.
I am confused over the best way to go with the new system... thunderbolt (with thunderbolt enabled Motherboard)/Mini Sas, E Sata, Sata Express, using the PCIe 3.0 slots!!!.... I haven't decided on any motherboard yet but looking at the P8Z77-V PRO/THUNDERBOLT but not locked to it.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
