Hey people, :)

Just wondering if this would be a decent set up for extreme gaming and Video editing. Whilst running many other programs.... :p
Also, Going to be using 4 27inch 3D monitors.

All feedback is welcome and appreciated! :)

Hello :punk: You seem to have a big budget but what's your max?

At first glance I'd suggest inverting your hard drive order. The SSD should be your primary drive, it's where you're gonna install your OS and applications, which will make your PC run and boot much faster. Also I'd suggest getting the 6Gb/s SSD instead. For the rest better wait for other people to comment =)

Is it possible to get that but with an AMD 8-core? (Just wondering by the way :p)

Tom's setup looks pretty good. No reason you couldn't configure an almost identical setup with an AMD processor (the motherboard is the only other component which would need to change).

Is there any particular reason you are wanting an AMD processor?

If you've got the money you can always go for the 240GB SSD if you want, just bear in mind that the price/GB is a lot higher for SSDs. Depends on your usage, I'd give at least 30-40GB for the OS on its own, including future updates.

Looking at my PC my apps take about 40-50GB of space, so thats already around 90GB, leaving you 30GB of free space. You can install the games you're playing atm on the SSD and move them to the HDD when you finish them, depends if you wanna do that or keep everything on the SSD. The caviar black is pretty fast too so your call, as I said depends on your usage.

Also Tom as the GTX 680 is the best GPU out there wouldn't it be better to have dual GTX 680s instead of the 7950? Cheaper too, just asking.

The control panel on NVIDIA cards will allow you to set up 3D vision straight away, I believe for AMD cards a 3rd party software is needed to allow 3D gaming and also you need to check the compatibility of 3D monitors with AMD cards.

For NVIDIA you do not need that. Just connecting the DVI-D cables to the 3D monitors, if you have a choice I'll go for NVIDIA 3D VISION 2 (as opposed to the first version). To enable 3D vision is just one click on the control panel, if you do it for the first time It will ask you to test the 3D glasses just by looking at some figures and confirming the shapes you are seeing, once that is completed it will show a few gameplay images to check the 3D Vision active, all that in less than 1 minute.

The maximum is 3 displays if you wish to play 3D. But a single GTX 680 can support a maximum of 4 monitors.
