Hi apologies if this is not the correct section

I actually bought my pc from pc specialist but the link above will show you the exact one ive got

It is an outstanding piece of kit for the price i bought it at the time 2014/2015 think it was £1200 not a single thing has gone wrong with it never had to take it in for anything really top notch super fast & still is to this day

The only issue ive noticed in the past couple months is the fan at the back of the tower stops working, when i turn the pc on sometimes it randomly starts but most mornings it dont so i gotta get my hoover out which has an opposite setting on it which blows air so i use that against the fan which gets it going & is then totaly fine the rest of the day never stops

As far as im aware the other fan/fans are ok not sure how many are in there but its the back one all the time so my question is would it be a case of getting a new fan as im clueless with these sorts of things

Thanks in advance

If you can post the full specs from the order page of your account please as that listing doesn't give all the specs?

You said you’d bought it from PCSpecialist.

If so, you log into your PCS account that you used to purchase the machine and go to orders, then copy and paste the full specs as in the guide above. If there's nothing showing it's because you haven't logged in with the account you ordered it with. The PCS account is separate to this one, it's on the main PCS website www.pcspecialist.co.uk which is a completely different account to this site.

You’ve just copied the page from curry’s but that doesn’t list the required specs.

We could take a guess but it’s unlikely to be accurate

That's a very basic case, pretty sure the fan is just plugged in via the psu rather than actually controlled.

I would just look at replacing the fan.

cheers mate i have no clue what psu is ill just follow your lead :ROFLMAO:
Are there shops these days that have people who come out with parts to fix/replace if you pay them? not being able to drive is awkward trying to carry that thing on a bus everywhere

You don't need to take it anywhere, just order a fan and fit it yourself.

but if you dont know how then it becomes a bit of a problem i just know ill start fiddling with it & then wont know what part goes in what slot then im without a pc
not sure if this might 100% confirm its the fan but usually when i turn the pc on & just wait for it to load to the desktop passwprd screen no matter what i do with the air compresser on the hoover it takes a fair few goes to get it moving
But what i did today is load the pc up as normal the fan wasnt moving which was expected but then before i started air compressing it i loaded up football manager which requires some power to play & then got the hoover on it while it was loading & the fan worked first time
So it basically spins first time if you have a heavy powered game already running its as if its giving the fan a head start
otherwise takes 5-10 mins to get going

It's literally screwed to the case at four corners and one cable goes to the motherboard and one to the PSU, that's it. There's nothing to it.

If you're going to own a custom PC, you need to know how to make upgrades and generally get to know the insides, otherwise it's pointless.
Any custom PC, the first upgrade is going to be the GPU, no matter what you fit when you buy it.

i plan to keep this pc for as long as possible i never intend to get a custom pc as you need to specifically choose the best parts you want & thats out of my knowledge

given that you know what desktop tower i have do you recommend a specific fan? as there are tons around ive seen some for £8 then some much more expensive i dont want to get the wrong one which may be too big etc etc

My guess is it actually has hair/dust trapped. Sometimes the initial jolt has enough torque to get it going, sometimes it doesn't.

If you take the side panel off you should be able to see where the wiring goes. Take note of it if you're doing this sort of thing for the first time, pics will help too.

Unplug then remove the fan, typically 2 or 4 screws in the corners. From this point you can either give it a right good clean/blast out or you can replace it.

this is why i need help thats actually one of the most natural basic first steps anyone should do before buying is try fix/clean your original first & i didnt even think about that at all :ROFLMAO:
cheers mate ill probably try that first take it out give it a good blast then if it still dont work ill have to come back on here & ask for a recommended fan

Cheers

still need help with this if possoble ive just taken the fan out & cleaned it as you suggested but seems to be doing the same problem i start the power button,it trys to spin for 2-3 seconds then stops so probably looks like i need a new fan
anybody know what fan is at the back of my pc from the specifications? it looks quite a simple fan as ive seen on youtube some fans have two wires coming from it but mine only has one , seems to be a 3 pin socket on the end of the fan i was confused at first as the socket i pulled it out from had 4 pins but i worked it out in the end
just need to know the exact one as im not in a position to send things back if its the wrong one for example no car,no envelopes/packages etc etc

thanks in advance

You can buy any fan, that’s a simple non pwn fan but you can replace with any 120mm fan

thanks buddy i know fans only have 1 job but is it better to get a more expensive faster spinning fan or do they all just do the same regardless?
from above it looks like i have this one CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler but looking on google that one seems to be whats in the middle of the tower attached to pipes not at the back of it so maybe thats the wrong one to go for

That’s the cooler, it’s not related to case fans.

Any basic fan without rgb like a noctua, sickleflow, Pure Wings, any of them, doesn’t make any difference.
