Faster Delivery than 2013

Happy to say my new Desktop PC has been dispatched and build time was 2 days quicker than 2013, when I ordered my last PCSpecialist PC.

Fingers crossed DPD are reliable and deliver tomorrow.

5000D Airflow, 5800x, 6700XT. Must admit I was expecting a longer wait. I really wanted a 3080 but wasn't paying scalper prices or waiting forever. 6700XT was in stock and retail price. I can upgrade later.

Be good to get some feedback on the 6700XT and how well it performs
Its still a LOT cheaper than equivilent Nvidia cards, about £170 less than the RTX 3070 atm.

I don't understand why the 3070 is so inflated, stocks seem to be fine with that card.

Strange that my 5800X is stuck at 4300MHz in TimeSpy. Would that be due to the way it’s been configured during building, or something else? Is there something I need to install to enable this auto-boost, or is it some BIOS setting?

I don't understand why the 3070 is so inflated, stocks seem to be fine with that card.

If they were evenly priced (as they msrp would put them) i’d give the 3070 the win as the better card. But at £170, all you really get is better 1080p, better ray tracing and a better hashrate for mining.

As i don’t game at 1080p, mine or use RTX... had the 6700XT game out at the same time as 3070, i’d have gone 6700XT without a doubt.

That was my line of thinking exactly @Ash_

The difference was over £200 when I placed the order for my PC as well. The price of the 6700XT seems to have risen by quite a bit, as when I go back to spec the same PC now, it's £150 more expensive.

Just received my PC and have to say I am not impressed with the packaging. Extremely amateur job inside the box. The foam inserts didn't fit the box correctly (too small) and they had tried to pad it out with random bits of foam just chucked in. The PC still slid about inside the box. I package eBay stuff better than that. Not what I expect when spending nearly £2000 on a PC. The external box was also quite badly damaged which carried through to the accessories package inside.

I have contacted CS but will do a separate forum thread so others can judge for themselves and compare to their own experience.
