Finance experience?

I am currently an 18 year old student who is going to start university in September.
I work 10 hours per week at my part-time job. I applied for finance earlier and it was rejected, so i was wondering if anyone has had experience on the best way to go from here.
Would it work if i applied for the finance in my parents name and had the monthly payments come out of my bank account?
Or would it have to be in my parents name and bank account? I will be paying it all off within the year to avoid the interest charges.

The only direct debit I have coming out is my car insurance.
