Firewire for father

Good evenign PC gurus. You have been a great help in the past for my PC designs so i thought i would post a question on behalf of my father. He needs alaptop which has firewire conectivity for video editing. he dosnt want to spend a lot [who can afford to these days on a pension?] Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm afraid that there's not much available from us with a firewire port as standard. Only the Vortex II series has firewire, which are not the cheapest of laptops! Rather than searcing for a laptop and paying more for one with firewire, consider an external video editing kit, for edample the Pinnacle Studio MovieBox, which has firewire and should connect to your laptop through USB: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/pinnacle-studio-moviebox-hd-for-pc-06921688-pdt.html
