Fitting sound blaster soundcard

Do I need to disable the onboard sound on my PC Specialist computer to fit a Soundblaster sound card. If so what is best way to do it.

the manual with the card should give you instructions, but I think its just a case of installing the card, installing the drivers and then plugging the audio equipment into the sound card.
