Hi, this is my spec - PC is a few weeks old.

When I first switched on the PC I had a CPU Fan error, quick phone call to PC Specialist, and they advised me to go into the BIOS and turn off the CPU monitor.
No problems after that checking the CPU temps and they were very low. perfect.

However, after a few days, I'd already re-installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 and installed all the motherboard drivers, I was advised to update the BIOS via the Asus EZ Update, so I did, but now as soon and the PC boots into Windows, my fans, power button all flash red.

Fans keep flashing red constantly, does anyone have any ideas please? I've included a screenshot of HWMonitor.

Might be worth installing corsair iCue which will show you pump and fan data, specifically you need to make sure the pump is working.

I'm very suprised PCS advised you to turn the alarms off, imho that's a bit of a foolish thing to do.

Thanks for the quick reply, just installed Corsair iCue and its only detected my Vengence RAM, nothing else. will do some investigating...

double check the USB output from the cooler to the motherboard, perhaps try it in another USB port.

Just as an FYI there won't be a cable running from the H100x to the motherboard. The H100x's are not the same as the H100i and cannot be controlled by iCUE or Link.

It could be that the cooler is fitted to the AIO Cooler header rather than the CPU header on the board and that might be why the Call Centre have mentioned to disable the alarm. However I am purely speculating, I'm not sure based off your images. Is it possible to get a picture of the front fans and the BIOS monitoring tab?

The CPU Fan error is classic ASUS, I had the same issue on my X470 motherboard when I updated the BIOS, although it took a while to figure out where to turn off the CPU Fan monitoring, I had to enable the fan, then disable the alarm, then re-disable the fan..

Regarding the fans and power button flashing red, it seems these are all connected together regarding their colour, so if it's flashing red I suspect whichever controller they are all plugged in to has been set to flash red, I don't think it's an error necessarily as flashing red is a usually one of the in-built options on most RGB Controllers, so it could just be that.



However, what you will need to do is figure out what is controlling them, and there are two options depending on your setup:
1. There is alledgedly a SATA powered RGB Controller provided by Cooler Master, located somewhere in the case, and obviously connected to the fans/power button, this might have a remote control to change colour, or a button on it, but without looking or knowing what coolermaster provide, I can't say, hopefully it would be evident by looking in the case.

2. The RGB Controller can also be plugged in to a motherboard. Looking at your photo's there is nothing plugged in to the Addressable RGB header, so if it is plugged in to the motherboard, it would be using either the Top or Bottom RGB header, if this is the case, then you need to install Aura Sync in windows to set the mode/colours.

Note: The black circled headers below are the standard RGB headers on the motherboard, the Red one I've circled is the ARGB (Addressable RGB header), I suspect if you case RGB Controller is plugged in to any, it would be the black circled RGB headers, if all three are empty, then you fans/power button are all controlled from a SATA powered RGB controller that will be hidden in the case somewhere.

Hi, a massive thank you for everyone's help, I managed to solve the red flashing fans problem! well, sort of. I found the Aura package already installed and noticed it refused to open, I had a red box popup saying the program was blocked for my protection, guess it was not compatible with my version of Windows 10 - 1903. Removed the app and downloaded the latest version, re-installed and rebooted. PC was fine before. but after installing this app, my PC just kept crashing, I finally managed to open the package and was able to change the fan colours but then the PC would restart or crash again. I rebooted and uninstalled the app and the fans are now fine changing colours as before. I will try what PHITOL suggested next.

No problems!

RGB is a pain in the rear end.. You might be better off unplugging the controller from your motherboard and seeing if you can use the (hopefully supplied) RGB Controller in the case.

My Phanteks Evolv-X case comes with ARGB strips to light everything up and comes with an RGB controller in the case that will let you cycle through colours/ modes. You can also hook it up to your motherboard (I also have an ASUS motherboard), but aura-sync was too buggy so just unplugged it again and used the phanteks case controller instead. (I've since moved on to using a Corsair Commander Pro for everything)
