First question: My present computer (also from pcspecialist) has this processor:

Intel® Core™ i5 Quad Core Processor 10300H (2.5GHz, 4.5GHz Turbo)

In the R statistical software if I issue this command: parallel::detectcores() I get the answer 12. Why not 4 (= Quad)? Or, to put the same question anor=ther way, will the AMD processor give an answer bigger than 12? I am actually not sure this is a fair question here!

Second Question: The spec seems to say that there will be at least 2 USB front ports and more on the back. There is no place visible on the case I have chosen where these ports might go. So will I get at least 6 USB ports?

Is this a spec you are thinking of buying or one you already have? If this has not yet been built, it could be significantly improved.
