Frame Rate drops with GTX 780

HI

I wonder if you will be able to help me with this.

I bought my Gaming PC 2 years ago and there seems to be an intermittent problem with the frame rate when playing games.

Games will usually run fine for the first 30 minutes or so and then the frame rate would suddenly drop.

Example: When playing Overwatch, I would get a frame rate of around 170fps for one match, but after that the FPS will drop & hover between 25 - 50 fps with small fluctuations as I am playing (sometimes it will be between 40 - 70 FPS etc). This would happen even if I were playing the same mp in the same areas.

Could someone please advise on what I can do to fix this? this happens on pretty much all games I play & lowering the graphics settings does not help with the issue.

My PC Spec is below:

Check your temperatures. It may be overheating and throttling the GPU to prevent damage or shut down. If they are too high you may need to clean out the PC from dust build up if you haven't done so recently.

the temperatures are fine (hovering around the 60 - 70 mark), & I checked the inside of the PC & there is not much dust at all (I clean it regularly). the thing is this will happen on older games too which don't require heavy use of the GPU.

Working checking CPU temps as well (if you hadn't already done so anyway)

I'd also set the Windows Power Plan to High Performance:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/292971-pcie-link-state-power-management-turn-off-windows.html

Set the GPU Power to Max Performance
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answ...ent-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance

If that fails, which driver version are you on? Some of Nvidia's most recent ones have been a bit wibbly for a few people. Perhaps remove the driver with

And try something like 362.00
