Are they USB 3.0? Check in Device Manager for any yellow triangles, and post a screenshot of your Device Manager with the USB root hubs expanded.

Hi,I see you have the ASUS® MAXIMUS VI GENE board, this has only two USB header's on the board, one was used to connect the card reader and the other was used by the Corsair H80i which has a usb cable needed for the Corsair link software to work. You could use the usb connector on the card reader though! :)

Hi Sanj,

Thanks, I just returned from a week away and started to look at this and noticed exactly what you said above. I have 3 cables coming from the USB front panel, 1 for front audio, 1 for front SATA and one for front USB - two guesses as to what wasn't plugged in :)

I went to plug it in and as you say I found there wasn't enough headers, bit frustrating that PCS don't point this out at the time of order!

Another problem remains though, USB on the Card Reader seems fine but when I connect an iPad cable for sync it goes mental! The charging symbol just flicks on and off and iTunes doesn't recognize it. No problem with rear facing USB's. Any ideas?

Thanks

Jay

I'd also be interested to know if anyone knows the answer to that as well, coincidentally I have the same problem on my machine at work, plug my ipod into the usb ports on the top of the case, worked fine, but into the memory card reader and it didn't deem to recognise my iPod at all and refused to charge it - admittedly my iPod has now died so it doesn't make a difference, but I'd be interested to know why it was so. Noting that the USB port on the memory card reader does recognise everything else I've used on it, just not the iPod
