I am also going to add a GTX660 Ti as the graphics card when it comes out next month. Might buy the PC soon and buy the GPU later. I am also unsure of what monitor to purchase. I am also not sure if I should gof or the 750w modular psu instead.

This PC will be for mainly playing online MMO's, especially Guild Wars 2. I may want to do a small amount of video recording while playing and small amount of editing.

I am looking for as much upgradability in the future so looking for it to be SLI ready for later upgrades.

Thanks for your help.

Hey looking at your spec it looks like you want to overclock in the future. I'll just say that OCing doesn't help with gaming, and since this is primarily a gaming build you could change a few components so that is not overclockable but this would then allow you to get a GTX 670 instead of a 660, which would give better performance. The GPU is the most important component for gaming, so it's always best to get the best you can afford.

You'd end up with a build like this one:

I dropped the SSD to a 180GB one since there is a substantial price difference with the 240GB, and ideally the SSD should be used for your OS, apps and a few games that you play a lot, the rest being on the HDD, so 180GB should be enough. Of course it depends on your use so if you need a 240GB by all means change it back.

Also the 650W PSU that you selected would not be enough to SLI a 670, I dunno about the power requirements of a 660 but even if a 650W is enough to SLI it it should be really tight.

This looks like a mix of your post and mine, not sure what you did there lol.

If you want some comments on this build, first let us know if you prefer to get the GTX 660 and if you want to overclock. A Caviar Black as 2nd HDD is better than the standard drive; it's faster and more reliable. The ALC cooler is a tad overkill too, especially if you don't OC.

Im basically just looking to be able to play Guild Wars 2 at max everything with good fps even during World Vs World. ( Thats hundreds of players fighting each other on massive maps with siege weapons and lots of effects ) Also playing other online games, I dont really play single player games mostly online mmo's. I will also use it for work and small stuff.

I don't think I will need to overclock anything.

I am looking for future upgradability so I do not have to rebuy for a few years atleast.

My budget is as close to 1200 pounds as possible with a 24 inch monitor and SSD I would prefer. With finance options I might be able to squeeze my budget to 1400-1500 pounds but I think that might be overkill.

I am not sure if I should get the GTX 560ti 2GB, wait for the GTX 660 TI or get the GTX670. I would prefer to stick with Nvidia, had nothing but problems with ATI cards.

I have an older PC currently that is 8600 GT, Athlon 64x2, 3gb ram. My laptop is currently i3-350m, ATI Mobility HD5470, 6GB DDR3 RAM, 640gb hdd. My laptop seems to play Guild Wars 2 pretty well in the betas but in WvW pvp it lagged alot in the big fights. The game has not been fully optimized yet but I want a new desktop anyway.

Thanks for the help.

Well according to this pic oRwEn.jpg the GTX 560 onwards would be able to max out GW2, although I'd select a better card with your budget if you want to be able to play more demanding games on high settings.

The K version of the CPU is for overclocking so you don't need it. GW2 seems to be more demanding on the CPU than the GPU but the 3570 should be more than enough for the task.

For the GPU the 670 may be too much if you're only gonna play GW2. Do you play other games such as BF3, Crysis...?

I made a build with a 670, you can change it to whatever you want as it brings you a bit over budget with the SSD. Also would you be more inclined on replacing the card in the future or adding a second one (SLI, Crossfire)? A few changes can be made based on that. The following build wouldn't allow you to SLI an Nvidia card but you could crossfire an AMD one provided you get a bigger PSU.
