Gaming/Coding Desktop PC for my son - circa £1000

Hi

I'm looking for a gaming PC for my son, whose laptop I bought him a few years ago is simply not up to the job. I have very limited knowledge of the various components and if they work well together.

I got this suggested config from the PC Speciast, I've and have increased the Ram from 8gb to 16gb Corsair.

Any other suggestions on tweaks (without the price rocketing ) would be gratefully received. Not really looking to spend over £1000.

You can do way, way better than that. I find that quite an odd build, to be honest. Here's a much more powerful one for less money. There are various things I'd like to improve (the power supply would be the main one) but it will be sufficient, last a number of years, and take upgrades in a few years time if desired.

Thanks for that, I'd just got one of the pre-config ones and tweaked the RAM, I'd thought that one of their engineers had recommended the build. I will go with yours
