While it looks AWESOME (more interally than externally, actually :p), and compared to other brands it offers way more to the same price, I'm a bit concerned about the overheating and the fan noise, since I read about a few guys lamenting problems with the Optimus V. Also, I've asked the live support about it, and they told me that every Optimus V is built with the same fan set, so I wonder: this machine looks pretty "hot", it would be annoying to have the fan 24/7 full speed.

I would like to know what you guys think about my concern.

I have an Optimus II (2011), running fine. They do run hot when gaming, fine otherwise. Invest in a cooling pad though like a Zalman, they aren't necessary but the lifetime of the components will be extended.
They look great externally in my opinion, understated but sharp, doesn't look cheap (In my opinion anyway)
If you are willing to wait by the way, I think PCSpec will be releasing the next line with Nvidia 800 series graphics cards. (End of the month I think)

Thanks for the answer.

I thought I saw them on other models actually, but I might be wrong. The heat itself is not a deal breaker, but what about the fan noise?

Also, what makes you think Optimus VI will be unveiled soon?

The new GPU's are discussed here https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...ics-card-ran-out-of-stock&p=263414#post263414

Hopefully someone with an Optimus V can give you better answers, as mine is pretty old. Anyways when I'm just browsing the internet, the fan is off (Will come on sometimes, quiet setting). During gaming is does start to spin, it's more noticeable rather than disruptive for me, but I do normally use headphones (Speakers are poor on the Optimus II). It's all subjective though, so it's hard to say, I've just never had any issues.
