Guys, this is a really important step for me.
I am upgrading from my Toshiba Satellite (over 4 years old now)
i3, 6gb Ram, 512 mb video card.

I want a powerful yet portable laptop that looks quirky too! My budget is around £1250.
Here's what I am thinking of getting:

Vortex IV 15'6
CPU: i7 2.5 Ghz 4710M
GPU: gtx 970m
RAM: 8gb Kingston 1600mhz
HDD: 500Gb Samsung 840 EVO SSD
SIlver warranty
Arctic thermal paste thing
= £1302
EDIT: the 892mb/s wireless card upgrade

I still have until the 10th of November to think on this as that's when PCS gets their batch of GTX 970m and 980m

I'd normally want the 980m but that would be £204 more. Do you guys think this is a bang for buck in terms of performance?

What I will use this laptop for:
-gaming- medium to high settings for latest games especially Dragon Age 3
-movies- I watch movies on laptop usually

Looks fine, I would get a smaller SSD + Scorpio black and make sure the wireless card and thermal paste are upgraded
