Gaming Laptop check - £1600 budget

Hi,

Hopefully should be a quick one as I don't think there is much to change with this set-up, but just want to see if any of the other alternatives e.g. defiance etc might be better than what i'm currently looking at. Budget is £1600 and will not be hooking laptop up to a monitor so just the laptop stand alone.

I've been away this last week and only accessing on my iPhone so apologies I missed this.

Are you looking at gaming with this or other uses?

Is £1600 your absolute maximum? for about £100 more you could look at possibly getting AMD and a 3070 inside either this or a Valeon and I think you would probably get better frame rates for the 1440p monitor with the 3070.

Although I must say if spending out over £1500 then factor in £69 for the gold warranty - it's a two year warranty and with laptops I think its good value.

Remove bullguard - not needed and windows defender is enough.

According to this, it is 1.2 TPM that is the minimum, not 2.0.

Appears microsoft screwed up what their hard and soft support was. If you don't meet the "soft" requirements you'll be recommended not to upgrade - but what does that mean, in the end?

Hi,

Just wanted some thoughts on this build for a Gaming Laptop. Won't have an external monitor so will just be running on the laptop screen. 2 SSDs as I require a Linux bootup for my school work but my primary will be the 1TB SSD selected. Budget is £1600, don't really want to go higher than that. Had a look at all the different variations available and think this is the best. On the website it does say that AMD CPU is available for this model, but can't see it in the selection so assume it's not in stock. Please let me know if I should make any changes.
